    After analyzing Alfie Kohn's article; “What does it mean to be well educated? » I found this article very interesting. Society has often labeled many people as well educated or uneducated. Who gives society the right to define who we are? According to the free dictionary, it gives a meaning to "well educated" as "Possessing an education having above average knowledge." »2. How can we define being educated versus being well educated? Kohn emphasizes “The point of schooling: rather than trying to define what it means to be well educated, should we instead ask ourselves about the goals of education? 1. Should one be considered well educated when one obtains a degree or specializes in a certain area of ​​interest, at a prestigious institution of higher learning? Growing up in rural Louisiana in the 1960s, my parents always stressed the importance of having an education. My parents never finished their studies, their studies ended in high school. Does this make my parents uneducated? I just don't agree. My parents are full of wisdom, which comes to them from life experiences. I remember many times my father would sit the family together and often read the Bible to the family. My father, a minister of the Word of God, has a wealth of knowledge that I could never learn in any school. Believing in God made a difference in how my parents chose to raise their children and how I can respond to Kohn's article. I was taught not to judge anyone and to seek counsel from the Lord. My Amplified Bible says in Proverbs 9:10, “The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and chosen part) of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding. » 4.
