  • Essay / The Truth About Murder - 1753

When I was younger, I went to a private Catholic school from K-6, and year after year the students learned several key stories from the Bible since the resurrection of Jesus, Noah and his ark and the divine creation of the first humans Adam and Eve. One story that I began to remember as I looked more and more into criminal justice because I felt it related to the information we were learning was the story of Cain and Abel. A basic summary of the story is that Cain and Abel were the two sons of Adam and Eve, and one day Cain became jealous of his younger brother Abel because Abel was favored by God over Cain. In his intense fit of jealousy and rage, Cain brutally beat and killed his brother Abel with the nearby jaw of a deceased animal and, as a result, was punished by God to wander the earth as an outcast. As I contemplated this story, I realized its importance as an early story or whether some might believe it to be an act of murder. The act of murder, or the killing of one human being by another with malicious intent, has an extremely captivating effect on our society. Although a large portion are terrified by the idea of murder, some people are fascinated by murder and others might even think about committing such a heinous act. Most of the information we think we know about murders is fed to us by media such as TV shows, movies, and news channels, giving us a false sense of insecurity about who we can tell. and cannot be trusted when it comes to security. of our lives. Through the use of national statistics and scientific studies, my goal is to correctly explain certain facts about the act of murder, such as who is more likely to be murdered or commit murder, which it may or may not be about social factors. ..... required.Works Cited• Bond, David, “The Effects of Violent Video Games on Aggressive Behavior and the Relationship to School Shootings” (2011).
