  • Essay / Resist The Feed - 1172

I've been doing a lot of research lately and found so much information! We can fight this! Titus, we can resist the Feed. Children have been fighting against their oppressive governments for years and making a difference. I am aware that writing this letter is dangerous, but I risk no more than the "218 million children worldwide who work as child laborers or the estimated 300,000 boys and girls who are exploited by armies in times of conflict and forced to work. to act as soldiers, sex slaves and servants” (FreeTheChildren.com). As Franklin said, “Society builds the children it needs.” Instead of policies aimed at protecting children in the community, the government and the media preferred to promote policies aimed at protecting the community from children” (5). That's exactly what the Feed did to us, Titus. It robbed us of our right to individuality. According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, “we have the right to say what we think should happen when adults make decisions that affect us, and to have our views taken into account” (article 12) . I defend our freedom from food because it is more harmful than accommodating for our generation. There is a story I read about a young girl named Yeny and her fight to bring peace to her country, Colombia. “Determined to make a difference, she and her friends decided to promote peace by organizing carnivals, parades and parties for children in the city. In a short time, the peace movement attracted children from all over the country” (Mulder). We can do it too, Titus. If these children could organize such an event and even succeed in stopping the violence for a day, why can't we use the same techniques to...... middle of paper ...... or my peace and my freedom. Titus, I implore you to join me in this mission. I have already asked my father for help and he is completely behind me. I know that once you see the effect our work has on our world, you will be immediately satisfied. The flow just isn't all it's cracked up to be. By letting a computer control our lives, we move away from our full capabilities as human beings. Think about it, our grandparents didn't have food, yet they lived long and fruitful lives and were able to get by in a world where they could have babies without in vitro, and they could swim in the ocean because it wasn't that acidic. the whales had to wear raincoats! Titus, the world was a better place before Feednet took over. I just want to get back to it. I know this will be difficult for you to handle, but please read it and think about it..
