COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE NATIONAL HOMELAND SECURITY STRATEGY OF 2002 AND 2007 TO THE RECENTLY RELEASED QUADRENNIAL HOMELAND SECURITY REVIEW OF 2010. Homeland Security refers to a phrase used for the efforts security measures aimed at protecting the United States from terrorist attacks, reducing the risks of terrorist attacks, and minimizing and quickly recovering from damages. It was created after the September 11 attacks; 2001. It was President George W. Bush's idea. It was created not only to deal with terrorist attacks, but also to deal with natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina. The National Homeland Security Strategy of 2202 is not much different from that of 2007. The only difference is that the 2007 Strategy was a revision of the 2002 Strategy with several details added after the US government realized that It was necessary to revise it because the enemy is constantly at the plow and if it is not revised and improved, it would be taken by surprise. The 2007 National Homeland Security Strategy was more specific on how to deal with terrorist attacks and also how to prevent them from being attacked, whereas the 2002 strategy and the 2007 strategy emphasized terrorist attacks, reducing the vulnerability of the Americas and recovering from attacks, that of 2007 added the fact that there were disasters that had to be faced, both man-made and natural.
