According to the Closing The Addiction Treatment Gap initiative, more than 20 million people are addicted to drugs but aren't getting the help they need. People abuse drugs for many different reasons, but addicts should consider help before it's too late. Here are some of the negative effects of your drug addiction: Damaged relationships With friends, family, or a loved one Job loss Due to drug use (late, sick, left early to get high, reduced work performance) Problems Financial Addiction will last until you have nothing left! (house, car, jewelry, etc.) Prison time and/or criminal record Being arrested with drugs, selling drugs or even committing certain crimes under the influence can result in a prison sentence Loss of ambition For life, hobbies and passions Body damage Depends on the drug being abused, but virtually all drugs cause damage to the brain and vital organs.
