Essay / Essay on Principle of Population, by Thomas Malthus
I also believe that if there is overpopulation, it will not do any good to humanity and overpopulation should be controlled using different types of preventive measures. I also believe that overpopulation will cause global warming and lead to poverty and malnutrition, which will worsen the health of people living in the environment. Even though there are different agricultural ways to harvest and produce more food, there is not enough land to produce enough food and if the population continues to increase, it will also increase environmental pollution . More population means more use of electricity, vehicles, water and more industrialization. This will lead to more pollution and people will start becoming unhealthy. All the pollution and industrialization will also lead to global warming which will only harm the well-being of organisms living in the environment. Furthermore, the demand for food, land, jobs and other products will exceed the supply, which will also lead to war and the destruction of society. This will have a huge impact on health, environment and environmental peace. So, everyone should start taking preventive measures until it is too late. Everyone should be aware of the consequences of overpopulation and take this issue seriously. I agree with the points Thomas makes and I think everyone should take the things he says seriously. I think that rather than taking his principle as pessimistic, they should see the good side of it and take it as optimistic.
