Essay / Compare The Giver A Dystopian Society - 1153
Have different abilities, appearances, life status, etc. can make a person stand out. On the other hand, we have equality which gives everyone equal rights for everyone in our society. In The Giver, this demonstrates a strong element of equality in which their government tries to make everything similar or equal. Everything must always be according to the same pattern and everything must be done precisely. Society found itself deprived of the possibility of making everything equal, to the point that it even suppressed people's gender. They force citizens to take pills simply so that they have no feelings of lust towards others, which would prevent unnecessary reproduction. In The Hunger Games, uniqueness is encouraged and promoted. Not everyone is the same, even though there are 12 districts that divide huge groups of people. Each district serves a different purpose, but only the Capitol, where only the rich and wealthy citizens live, reaps great benefits. Unlike the other novel, the Giver's society benefits from it and everyone helps each other without knowing what the reality is.
