There are many different fields and locations where sound and broadcast engineering technicians can find work. Many sound technicians are or may be involved in many activities such as recording a football game, working with music and many other areas that require basically everything related to recording and sound . Most of these fields or jobs would be known as engineer, sound technician, re-recording mixer, live sound engineer, producer, or recording studio installer. Each of them is similar, but they all have distinct responsibilities, such as work environments, benefits, and techniques used in their jobs. ResponsibilitiesBroadcast technicians and sound engineers have similar but different responsibilities. For example, audio engineers and sound technicians work during live performances to ensure that the sound is where it needs to be by using a sound card and making it sound high quality. A re-recording mixer, recording studio setup worker, and producer all work with recordings and their job is to re-record all media as necessary, set up equipment for recording, and create music , videos and mixers. Another task involved in being a sound engineer technician is that of a mastering engineer. This engineer takes mixes (multiple recorded sounds that are combined into one) and puts the finishing touches on them before they are produced. There are a lot more jobs. One is a multimedia developer responsible for collecting information and producing audio files for compact discs and websites. Studio designers are those who provide audio and video designs for recording locations. Assistant engineers are responsible for assisting engineers by performing setup and assisting with recordings. Production assistants are in the middle of the paper. Jobs cover a wide variety of job descriptions. Individuals can choose to work directly with people (live performances), or work in the studio (mixing, etc.), in R/D, collecting information for CDs/websites/etc… People can also help engineers in setup, to ensure that an audio tape/disc is completed correctly and on time. Individuals may also have the chance to work with advanced equipment, which would enable someone to deliver the best possible product. To become a BSET, a degree would be helpful, but not necessary. In some cases, an associate degree is necessary, but if you want to get a quality BSET degree, the Institute of Tech. would be the place to go. People can experience a diverse workplace if they go into broadcast and sound engineering. The pay is good, but the love of the work and everything that comes with it is why someone would want to get into this field.
