There are different religions around the world, they all have their own types of music and they are spread all over the world. Some similar, others radically different. The religions I studied for this study all have similar characteristics. Yet different, the United Methodist Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and Judaism all have ideals in common, but throughout their history they have changed and morphed into their own separate churches or synagogues with their own modes of worship. This is why I wonder what drives members of these religions to adhere to these modes of worship. The Methodist Church was established in 1787 by John Wesley in England. The Methodist faith is a branch of the Protestant religions. When the Methodist Church was established, John Wesley did not intend to create a new denomination because he was part of the English Church. But he was trying to create a revitalization within the English Church with small group meetings for Bible study and encouragement in beliefs. Methodist preachers were always on the move spreading their beliefs to the people. “It is estimated that Wesley traveled over 250,000 miles on horseback and delivered an average of fifteen sermons per week during his career. » (Bottle #2) The practice of traveling and preaching caused the spread of the Methodist Church, which is why there are 70 million people in 161 countries now claiming the Methodist denomination. In 1771, Wesley began sending preachers to America, but at the time they were still British colonies. Because the American people may not have wanted to join an English church, Wesley allowed Americans to start their own church. This was the beginning of the United Methodist Church.
