    Relationship between the “big five traits” and a person's personality xA person's personality has been the subject of psychological examination for many years. Psychologists have developed several theories to attempt to accurately predict and determine a person's personality. Chief among them is the “Big Five Traits Theory” which stems from the theory of Raymond B. Cattell. Raymond B. Cattell (1906-1998) studied the personality traits of large groups of people, calling the visible traits of their personality "surface traits." .” During his studies, Cattell observed that certain “surface traits” appeared simultaneously in individuals. When Cattell noticed this trend occurring frequently, he renamed the group of "surface traits" "source traits." At the end of his research, Cattell identified sixteen “source traits.” Subsequent research attempted to reduce Cattell's sixteen "source traits" to five universal personality dimensions, resulting in what is now known as "the big five personality factors." (Costa & McCrae, 2006; Noftle & Fleeson, 2010) “The Big Five Trait Theory” is based on the five major dimensions of personality which, according to Jason Rentfrow (PH. D), were “discovered” after “scientific decades of personality research. »The Big Five theory is a useful tool for creating a personality profile for a particular individual. By analyzing a person using the big five traits of extroversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and neuroticism, one can determine an individual's basic personality profile.
