    Did you know that the country of Chad is the size of Alaska? Chad has been living in poverty for a while now, the economy is not good at all. The harsh climate in Chad makes life even more difficult for the people living there. As for jobs in Chad, they are limited in number and most of them are in poor working conditions. Life in Chad is not easy. The Chadian government is republican. The president is Idriss Déby, Chadian citizens don't like him very much. Their government doesn't have much money to give to the citizens, they are struggling to focus more on the citizens and instead focus more on the military. With Chad being the fifth poorest country, they have to defend their country because it would be so easy for bigger countries to take over. In Chad, there are elections every five years, the last election was held in 2011. To vote, citizens must be 18 years and older. The legislative branch has 118 members. Chad's economy doesn't help anyone who lives there. Poverty is at a very high level, many children are falling ill and dying of hunger. There are only a few large, wealthy cities across the country, the largest city being N'Djamena. The population was 10,758,945 at the last survey in 2012. The most popular religion in Chad is Islam and Christianity. Although there are many tribal languages, French is essentially the main language. From the looks of Chad, there really isn't any potential wealth, but there are things that could turn things around. Chad is mainly a desert (part of the Sahara...... middle of paper ......es only ). Football is the main sport, the most popular and really the only one practiced in Chad. Many children in Chad play soccer because it is easy to set up a field, use a few sticks to score goals, and roll up torn rags to make a soccer ball. Chad does not have winter Olympians, but it does have summer Olympians. Chad has athletes everywhere, just like other countries. Chadian citizens are doing their best to live in poverty, while the government tries to defend their country. The country lacks money, food and education. Globally, Chad is the fifth poorest country, but also one of the youngest countries. Over time, Chad could learn to use its resources better and escape poverty..
