Unwanted pregnancy continues to be an increasingly important argument in the United States. Many young women and girls face unwanted pregnancies. Many must decide whether to continue their pregnancy or terminate it. The most common method used to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is abortion. However, many women, especially adolescent girls, are unaware of another method used to prevent unwanted pregnancy called Emergency Contraception (EC). This article will explore opinions on unintended pregnancy, EC, emergency contraception and emergency contraception. Many women of childbearing age have become pregnant unintentionally in the United States. As a result, many developed a sexually transmitted disease (STD). This may be due to unprotected sex, improper use of contraception, contraceptive failure, or sexual assault. Rates of unintended pregnancy are high and occur in all age groups.
