According to the Cambridge Dictionary Online, discipline is “training that produces obedience or self-control, often in the form of rules and punishments if these are not respected” (2016). Children learn discipline from their parents or guardians. The Child Development Institute said: “Parents with discipline problems don't plan. They don't realize that they may be part of the problem” (2011). Discipline takes work and planning for parents to teach their children. However, when a parent understands the importance of discipline, the work pays off and they are able to produce disciplined individuals. Our schools need more disciplined students to enter today's world.
