Essay / The Cave - 1083
A large fracture in the otherwise solid rock served as the entrance to the cave. The opening is half a foot shorter than Jazzlyn's five feet six inches and about half as wide. In front of the small threshold, the cool, musty air from inside the room escapes through the crack and stings his skin. The irregular space is just big enough for her to squeeze in sideways if she keeps her head down. To Jazzlyn, this hardly seemed like a challenge. First, extending her right arm, followed by her shoulder, leg and hip, she places her right foot firmly on the floor indoors. Tilting her body slightly, careful not to drag her skin along the jagged rock, she pulls the rest of her body through the narrow opening. The distinct change in atmosphere is immediately apparent. The cold, humid climate of the cave is in stark contrast to the hot, dry air it left outside. She wrinkles her nose at the musty smell that permeates the air of this place. Inside, the cavern is surprisingly spacious. Jazzlyn is able to extend both arms out to either side and not reach the rock walls surrounding her. Several centimeters of empty space between his head and the ceiling allow him to stand, which is not the case in other, more cramped parts of this cave. From the atrium where it is located, the cave divides into two tunnels. The one on the right is almost impassable and although Jazzlyn's sense of adventure is keen, her sense of self-preservation is keener and she never travels that route. She will find the company she is looking for by the path on the left and will therefore set off in that direction. Given the lack of light, she is used to it; having grown up in the darkness of Creperi, Jazzlyn is in the middle of paper......from inside a deep crevice carved into the cave wall right next to the table where Jazzlyn waited and limped to her . āIām just so excited to see what you brought me, give it to me now please.ā His voice rang with impatience as he moved closer to the table. As promised, Jazzlyn raises a fisted hand and says to Zac, "Close your eyes first, and when you open them, they will sparkle with pleasure." Zacrabus does as he is told. , and Jazzlyn unclenches her fist to reveal an extra large fluffy caterpillar that smells horribly foul. This particular brand of caterpillar releases a sticky substance from the bottom of its legs when it feels threatened, which smells like something rotten to most people. Zacrabus, on the other hand, is not like most people and the rancid smell this creature produces does not seem to bother him at all...
