    OverviewIn the discourse regarding the history of the black American freedom struggle, the climax and subsequent downward action of the black freedom narrative refers primarily to the dominant civil rights movement in the American Deep South. Although the Civil Rights Movement of South America was a pivotal influence in the struggle for black freedom, it is often presented as the only movement to challenge the oppression and subjugation of black people in America. However, promoting such a notion would be unfounded. In fact, I will go further and propose an alternative theory. The dominant civil rights movement, by which I refer to the historical point between the Brown decision (1954) and the end with the emergence of the "silent majority" of the Nixon era (1968), is only crucial in the appearance it provided. a foundation for a more radicalized and little-recognized left-wing black freedom struggle in the late 1960s. The radicalized black liberation movement, the Black Power Movement, between the assassination of Malcolm X (1965) and the election of President Reagan (1980), manifested itself in a desire to promote cultural and ethnic awareness, economic independence, self-defense, and, in some cases, cases of Marxism. The Black Power Movement brought the internal liberation necessary for black people to take full advantage of the achievements of the Civil Rights Movement. Black people needed to be aware of their rich history and culture, which was effectively censored by the white authority structure of the United States. However, the purpose of this essay is not to provide an analysis or overview of these distinct but closely related struggle movements.
