The two areas that contain and surround the city of New Orleans are known to residents of southern Louisiana as the West Bank and West Bank. Both places have their own way of celebrating the famous Mardi Gras festival. Although the two regions differ in the number of people who attend their parades and the size of their parades; they are similar in their style of celebration. The majority of people who attend Mardi Gras parades on the West Bank are often different from the majority of people who attend Mardi Gras parades on the East Bank. The Eastern Shore is home to almost all of the famous city of New Orleans and attracts many more tourists and New Orleanians to parades during the Mardi Gras season. Large numbers of tourists and drunken residents often roam the streets of the East Bank during Mardi Gras season, making it a more mature setting. On the other hand, the West Bank normally receives far fewer tourists than the East Bank, making parades on the West Bank more family-oriented.
