  • Essay / Internet Introversion - 1035

The Internet is a technological marvel of the modern world that can be used to carry out a wide range of activities such as entertainment, research and communication. Over the past two decades, it has become a necessary aspect of modern life that many use daily. The Internet as we know it today did not come into existence until around 1995, when Internet service providers such as American On Line implemented a commercial application of the Internet to the American population. At the time, it was considered geek territory, even though advertisements portrayed it as a very cool new thing that saved time and was fun to use. In reality, it was slow and its capabilities were very limited, far from current technology. Over time, the Internet has become more and more integrated all over the world, and the number of active users has steadily increased each year. Given the large number of people using the Internet, concerns are growing about the health and physiological risks that its use may cause. The Internet is generally believed to cause introversion in people; However, this is a misconception. Introvert Introverts are people who normally have reserved qualities. They are often thought to be shy, but being shy is different from being introverted. Most introverts don't usually feel nervous around people, they just don't like being around people because it makes them feel mentally tired and makes them lose focus on what they are thinking about. So, an introvert will stay alone for most of their free time, giving the illusion of this shyness. Additionally, introverts are often deep thinkers, meaning they think about the nature of things and the fundamentals of a subject and not the subject itself. An example of this...... middle of paper ......n and forms a certain degree of prejudice. Calligraphic forms such as handwriting, drawings, and symbolism have more investigative powers but can still be used as narratives. What does handwriting look like? What does the drawing represent? What does the symbolism say? Due to people's natural tendency to judge and criticize one another, this leads to individuals who simply want to be free to express themselves on an equal, unmediated basis. The Internet is a real refuge for these individuals. Works Cited “Pornography Statistics.” Pornography statistics. http://www.familysafemedia.com/pornography_statistics.html (accessed April 2, 2014).
