In the play Macbeth, William Shakespeare presents the choices and actions that led to Lady Macbeth becoming queen. However, she doesn't like the job because she got it without deserving it. Since Lady Macbeth became queen, she shows her feminine side by acting kind and gentle towards Macbeth. When Macbeth becomes king, the position of power between Macbeth and his wife is reversed and he becomes the dominant person in the relationship. This reversal of power explains why he does not tell Lady Macbeth about his plan to murder Banquo and Fleance. Before Macbeth was made king, Lady Macbeth was the more powerful in their relationship. Lady Macbeth proved that she wanted to be a man when she called upon the spirits and said, “unsex me here” (17). Lady Macbeth wanted to exchange her breast milk for poison and undo all the traits that made her a woman.
