Essay / Charles Dickens and His Works by Charles Dickens
Charles DickensCharles Dickens is well known for being one of the world's greatest writers of his time. His works were not much like other works. His works are more like stories and life experiences. These are some of the things that influenced the writing of Charles Dickens. Much of Charles Dickens's life experience was implemented in his works. He had a rather difficult childhood and one could gain this by reading some of his major works such as; Oliver Twist, Hard Times and A Tale of Two Cities. Charles John Hiffam Dickens was born on February 7 in the year 1812. His parents were Elizabeth and John Dickens. Dickens's early childhood was really difficult. When his father was sent to prison, the family was struggling financially, so Dickens started his first job at age 12. It made him feel abandoned and perhaps even helped his writing be better. From the difficult past, Dickens had helped him understand the lower class and its comic genius. Which helped him write Oliver Twist. At the time he began writing A Tale of Two Cities, he was going through a divorce. Writing this book made him feel like a better person. Dickens mainly wrote about the poverty he saw and experienced in his life. At the age of 12, Dickens' father, John Dickens, was sent to prison for non-payment of his debt. So, to help his family, Dickens went to get a job in a factory. He shined and shined shoes and made a dollar and fifty cents a week. The family even had to stay at the factory. This allowed Dickens to understand early on that some children cannot receive a proper education. After a few years, he was able to resume his studies at Wellington House Academy for three years. (Grade Saver) After a tumultuous childhood, Dickens devoted a lot of time...... middle of paper ...... another's point of view because their works are based on the real experiences of someone who came to change England like a hole. Dickens has many major works because of the way he expanded his writing styles and the way he can grab the reader's attention and make you feel like the readers are in the story and imagining certain things he talks about. It can even give the reader an understanding of some peoples' difficulties in life. Even if Dickens didn't have the best life or make the best choices. He can honestly say he may have learned something from it. A Tale of Two Cities is a book that people love, try reading it and see where it takes you. In conclusion, Dickens didn't turn out to be so bad. It seems that although he had a difficult start, everything still worked in his favor. He had 10 beautiful children and a happy career that could ask for more.
