In F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan was a very important character, without her in the novel it would never have turned out the same way. Daisy Buchanan was very rich, materialistic and complicated. I think Daisy was much deeper than people gave her credit for. Daisy was not a very wealthy person on her own, but she and her husband Tom Buchanan had all the money in the world. Tom and Daisy had a very nice house and of course all the nice things you could think of. Daisy wasn't afraid to flaunt what she had. For example, when they invited her cousin, Nick Carraway, to visit her, she always tried to impress him with her items that she thought were of great value, but to her surprise, Nick was not very flattered . Daisy didn't know what to do without her wealth. It was all she ever had and she depended on it immensely. I believe this is another reason why she would never completely leave Tom Buchanan for Jay Gatsby, because in the past, Jay Gatsby was poor and had little money to buy material things, even though Gatsby...
