    Rogers Communications Inc. is one of Canada's largest communications and media companies. The Rogers group of companies included wireless, cable, business solutions and media companies. They are the only national carrier in the country using world-standard GSM/HSPA+LTE technology and the largest provider of wireless voice and data telecommunications services in Canada. They are also a leading provider of cable, television and internet services. Rogers Business Solutions provides solutions to small, medium and large businesses, professional customers and government. Rogers Media includes products and services such as broadcasting, TV shopping, sports entertainment, magazines and digital media. Since the death of Edward Samuel Rogers in December 2008, Rogers Communications has had two CEOs, and surprisingly, neither of them was his son. Nadir Mohamed became CEO in 2009 and retired in 2013, when the torch was passed to Guy Laurence, who was head of Vodaphone UK. Rogers has always been a leader in innovative technologies and services, from the invention of the first radio to various tiers of cable services and the nation's first cellular and high-speed network. Rogers has invested billions of dollars in the purchase of successful businesses such as magazines like Macleans, radio stations (680 and CFRB), sports facilities (Rogers Centre) as well as sports organizations. On December 9, 2011, Rogers and Bell purchased a majority stake (79.53%) in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE), a Canadian professional sports company that owns the Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC and Marlies. They also own the Air Canada Centre, which is the home arena for the Leafs and Raptors.
