  • Essay / The speed of reaction. - 1058

MethodStep 1 – Remove the blazer and put on goggles for health and safety reasons.Step 2 – Collect the following equipment –Thermometer – to check the temperatureConical flask – to hold the acid1 liter of circuit breaker – contains waterMeasuring cylinders x2 50 ml 25 mlBlanco – for weighing marble chipsMarble chips CaCO3 – which reacts with hydrochloric acidStopwatch – for timing the start of the reactionSupply tube – for letting air throughSupport camping – to hold the equipmentBoson – it heats the waterTripod – to hold the beaker at a certain height that has the most heatIce – to cool the water of a certain test tube holder tempered – so as not to burn your hand and keep it safe.Step 3 - Install all equipment.A- Clamp bracket. B- Measuring tube (25 ml) C- Administration tubeD- Conical flask E- “What’s happening” reaction F- ThermometerG- Beaker H- Boson I- TripodJ- Water K- 1 liter beakerStep 4 - My partner weighed the marble chips on the scale, the amount we used was 1 g. Step 5- I poured the hydrochloric acid into the 50 ml measuring tube, the amount we used was 40 ml.Step 6- I filled the measuring tube with water, put my thumb on the top and pressed hard so that there was no air in it. Step 7- I filled the big beaker with water and placed it near the clamp stand. Step 8- I used the measuring tube, turned it over and put it into the beaker that contains water, then make sure that there was no air trapped in the measuring tube. Step 9 - Make sure the distribution tube is installed so that the air created by the ball goes into the tube and not into the air....... middle of paper..... eriment, I could improve a lot of things like changing the size, time and heat of the ball. The marble we used at the start of the experiment was too big, meaning the reaction rate was reduced very low, to overcome this problem. we made sure to have a small marble so that the experiment could be reliable and have a good result. Another issue where we found that the time spent versus the experiment we were doing, the times weren't perfect or we didn't stop it in time, or too early. You can see on the chart at 35 hours that the average time did not match the time after and before the temperature. The reason could be that we didn't check the temperature properly or maybe we had large rocks on the surface. is too little or we didn't read the time correctly or we didn't stop it in time, to overcome this problem we need to check the time and pay close attention to the timing..
