Specific Objective: To persuade the audience to choose life Abortion is when a mother decides to terminate her pregnancy. Many people have different opinions on this ethical and moral issue. Some people believe that abortion is a good thing, while others believe that it is inhumane and contrary to their moral and/or religious beliefs. (Advance Slide)In 1973, the Supreme Court's decision based on Roe v. Wade opened the door to legalizing abortion nationwide. However, the Constitution does not mention abortion, so this issue is up to the states. This has been a serious controversy for 38 years. According to statistics, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA or PP) performs the largest number of abortions in America. After thoroughly researching both sides of this issue, I believe that abortion is still morally and ethically wrong. (Advance Slide)ARGUMENTS IN FAVOR OF ABORTIONSome people believe that abortion is and should continue to be socially and morally acceptable. Abortions are legal and necessary for some people to continue their work/education/career/standard of living. They do not view adoption as a choice. Some people think that an abortion is nothing more than a “drop” of tissue in the early stages of human gestation. Negative reactions can be delayed for 10 years or more, when a woman feels her pain and doubts alone.
