  • Essay / Making the right choice - 1014

We make choices every hour, every minute and every second of our lives; whether big or small, our choices slowly move us in the direction we choose or end up. Many of us don't realize what contributes to the choices we make and why it affects others in the same way if it affects us. It is for this reason that many authors and writers have written stories and articles on how to accept making a choice and improve yourself. when it comes to making decisions for the future. In life, bad decisions are made, leading to repercussions that can put anyone in a difficult situation. For example, a teenager drops out of high school, hangs out with a group of negative friends who encourage rebellion, and finds himself uneducated on the streets engaging in illegal activities; this choice to drop out of school created many other problems because of it. In the poem "We Real Cool" by Gwendolyn Brooks, Brooks gave an authentic response to what usually happens when the negative choice to drop out of school can lead to failure: "We left school, we stay up late , we die soon” (732-733). Many people drop out of school and do very well, but that's not the case for everyone. When a child makes this choice, bad things can happen. Given that poor choices are frequently made throughout life, what factors contribute to poor choices? Tom Scheve, is a writer for HowitWorks.com and he says, “The stress of making decisions can be what sets us up for failure. Humans are highly motivated to avoid making choices they regret. This innate fear of doing the wrong thing can lead to stress so great that it affects your decision-making – to the point where you make a choice you wish you hadn't. That being said, not only does stress lead to poor choices, but also middle of paper ... will affect my life and the lives of others.
