When you do a Bible study, you observe certain scriptures, books or lectures. Bible study is analytical and you seek the deeper meaning of it all. It's not like meditation where you meditate on a word and it's not limited to books or lectures. As Terry Tarsuik said, it is “a close attention to something that draws the mind toward God” (TT, 2015). Studying helps the Christian mind understand the meaning of what it studies and broadens its horizon. In my opinion, spiritual discipline is something Christians should do externally to make a difference. It is not something that happens internally in a person. Outward spiritual discipline is something that should be applied to a Christian's outward lifestyle. Many outward spiritual disciplines have to do with helping others and their impact on the lives of others. Simplicity Simplicity is the need to live simply. Simplicity puts things in their place and lets things take their course. It is an internal change that is expressed externally.
