In the book Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose, some jurors were racist in their interpretation of the case. “Racism is born of ignorance.” (Mario Balotelli), the jurors were stuck in an ideology that anyone of that particular race was guilty and dangerous. People tend to get stuck in certain beliefs and ignore the views and ideas of others; they are therefore unconscious of the real world. Ideology corrupts the mind when society ignores the ideas, thoughts and actions of others, which is why they are convinced that their way is the right way and that the beliefs of others do not matter. This mindset leads to emotions such as racism, contention, mirth, and lopsided bias. Racism plays a major role in the juror's initial conclusion about the case. Juror No. 8 was the only one who questioned the other eleven men initially, he said; “…Look, this boy has been beaten all his life. You know, he lives in a slum, his mother died when he was nine.
