“We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make a commitment to always move forward. Martin Luther King Jr was one of the most important people who worked very hard to demolish racial discrimination and improve the lives of all African Americans in the United States. He refused to hide or run from his extreme difficulties and was steadfast in his determination to continue fighting the civil rights issue to the end. He spoke with the words of God and looked at the world in peace and equality. Despite the horrible threats from white people, he tried and defied even more to stand on stage and give hope to all innocent black people, while expressing his and his people's opinion on this issue. He met his wife, Corertta Scott, in Boston and together they participated in various campaigns fighting against black rights. He became a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People as well as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. His teaching and dreams of justice became realities after his death and still touch many people today. In total, he traveled six million kilometers, moving from place to place, giving numerous speeches in which he believed there was injustice and prejudice. During his journey, he wrote five books about his beliefs and experiences and published numerous articles in newspapers and magazines. The teachings of Mahatma Gandhi greatly inspired the beliefs of Martin Luther King. Their beliefs were somewhat similar, as Martin Luther King also believed that protests should be non-violent. Nevertheless, Gandhi showed him how nonviolent protest can be more powerful than anything else. Death threats, threatening letters and violence against him did not prevent him from avoiding the problem. During his long journey, he faced many sad things like the deaths of many black people. If we were in Martin Luther King's place, it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to sacrifice our lives for others. These days, many people tend to take the easiest path they can find, and so we often fall under a deep boggy obstacle. However, from him I learned that it is very important to follow the right path, regardless of the distance. He taught me to always try harder and harder and even push through it if necessary, to overcome difficulties.
