Essay / Lifestyle Inventory - 1505
Lifestyle InventoryThe Lifestyle Inventory (LSI) survey really made me realize and confirm many things or styles that I already knew about myself -even. On the Lifestyle Inventory survey, I scored very high in the “Perfectionist,” “Conventional,” “Power,” and “Competitive” lifestyles. I completely agree with this. I always approached things with those things in mind. I can honestly say that with every decision I make, I will take these “styles” into consideration. At work and in my social life, I have a strong tendency to be all of these things. I see it as a way to survive. I believe in the Darwinian concept of survival of the idea of fitness. For me to live up to this belief, I must be strong in a society that demands an individual to possess these aspects in life. If you are weak, if you are not motivated, if you make mistakes and if you do not play by the rules of the game, then I do not believe that you can succeed in whatever your goals are. You will be competing with those who will happily take advantage of you. Losing will hurt and some say you learn from losing, I like learning from winning. Power, convention and competition are very important things in my life. I always want to do my best without making any mistakes. It’s something I was raised on since I was a child. I consider these values to be very strong in my daily decision-making. I think I developed all my habits and “lifestyles” based on the environment I grew up in. When I was a child, I had a lot of friends who looked like me. We were all very motivated to do our best in everything we did. We had daily competitions during recess to see who was the fastest, strongest, who could throw the furthest, etc. In the classroom, academics also served as competition. Growing up in this environment, I quickly developed a taste for beating other kids in whatever area they challenged me in. I loved knowing that I can beat others in sports and that if I couldn't beat another kid, I would work hard to try. to beat this child. I had to be the best if I wanted to get into something.
