Essay / Wrestlemania 15 - 765
Wrestlemania 15, aside from the main event, a surprise appearance by HBK and the famous heel of Triple H, is truly one of the biggest disappointments. The Attitude Era was undoubtedly great, but much of the wrestling entertainment here seems nonexistent. I also can't stand Michael Cole, I've always found him to be a poor announcer, so I was really happy that JR got to announce the main event. Wrestlemania 15 is memorable for me though, because Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock are my two favorite wrestlers of all time, and seeing them put on one of the greatest brawling clinics in Wrestlemania history was fabulous. Billy Gunn|C| Versus Hardcore Holly vs. Al Snow. Big pop for Gunn, nice heat for Holly. This is your typical hardcore match, which has been on the air a lot these days. Rather uninteresting, with only a few memorable places. Holly wins, taking advantage of Gunn's Fameasser.1 1/2 /5WWF Tag Team Titles. Owen Hart&Jeff Jarrett|C| Against D'Lo Brown and Test. Big Pop for Debra, why they find her attractive is beyond me, I think she is very overrated. Quite dull to say the least, and far too short, to have any real impact. Tag champions retain, with a roll up.1 1/2 /5Brawl For All Match. Bart Gunn vs. Butterbean. They should have gone a few rounds to make it seem legit, but they went the knockout route, which is a shame. Bart was a good fighter, and it pissed me off a little that he won so easily.0/5Referee match. Great spectacle against humanity. Big pop for Foley. Boring throughout, with the only entertainment, unfortunately comes from Foley taking unhealthy bumps. Foley wins by DQ. Then Show turns around, punching the middle of the paper......0/50 definitely. LOUD pop for Austin, with surprisingly some haters in attendance. From a wrestling perspective this won't come across as the best, but from a brawling perspective it's one of the most exciting you'll ever see. These two pull out all the stops to provide a memorable show for the fans. Some of these two's bumps were pretty crazy. Rock's usual hilarious antics, as well as Austin's, are great. After a Rock Bottom Kick Out and a Stunner Kick Out, Austin finally wins the gold, with a Stunner, when Foley comes in counting the 1-2-3. Loudest pop of the night, for Austin's celebratory victory.5/5Bottom line. If it wasn't for the main event, this one could have rivaled Wrestlemania's 11.2 and 4 as the worst ever. It's really not great. Wrestling fans like me should see it once, out of curiosity, but the only thing worth it is the main event..
