Essay / A personal statement about a future career in graphic design
Artist StatementI am committed to the work I do because I want to see my ideas and imagination become visual and tangible creations that all world can appreciate. I want to be able to express my own personal feelings with my work that I can't share with simple words. My aspiration in the next few years is to become a graphic designer. I would prefer to do this on a global scale and with so many language barriers in place, using images and graphics is sometimes the only way to communicate. Bringing everyone together and raising awareness about culture is my life's goal. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on “Why Violent Video Games Should Not Be Banned”? Get an Original Essay I try to have a big master plan with my pieces, but most of the time I have to plan as I go. I'm a very organized person and a bit of a perfectionist, so mistakes are a serious turn-off for me, whether anyone else notices or not. Small details are what really make a piece stand out and I love using block printing to create such details. A theme I like to add to my pieces is usually something visually related to female anatomy or conceptual themes of freedom or misguidedness. I'm a feminist, so these themes are easy to understand and express. When working with block printing, I am constantly reminded that every mistake is permanent, but every mistake will also add character and uniqueness to my pieces. This is my third time working with block printing and I was hoping that this time I could explore a piece based on a stronger face profile and incorporate curls again. I usually initiate a piece by trying to target topics and subjects that interest me. However, "Two-Sided Happiness" was inspired by my coworker's pearl necklace. Looking at her cluster pearl necklace, I imagined floating bubbles, and listening to her speak enthusiastically, I thought about everything she values: happiness, excitement, joy, fun and of course freedom. I put two and two together and mentally framed “Happiness with Two Faces.” I know my work is finished when I feel like I can no longer add textures or shapes and maintain an aesthetic balance. “Two-Sided Happiness” definitely reached that point. When my play turns out as planned, I feel a sense of pride and ambition. I feel like I can accomplish any task given to me. When others see my article, I hope they will feel jovial and free and think about what gives them these emotions..
