The Islamic faith requires that Muslims must attend prayer five times a day to perform ritual cleansing. Prayer is a duty that must be performed by every Muslim. If they do not attend, they will face the wrath of God on the day of judgment. Each day, the call to prayer will ring out across the city, informing people that they are being called to the mosque. The first call to prayer begins around 4 a.m. and the last ends around 8:30 p.m. These followers believe that God never communicates directly with humanity. Muslims hope to be heard by their god, but do not expect it. These teachings differ from what Christians believe about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Bible speaks of God as “living.” Therefore, spirit is everywhere and can be communicated by people at any time. There is also no specific ritual for prayer in Christianity.
