  • Essay / Lyndon Johnson - 726

On November 22, 1963, a renowned president was assassinated, John F. Kennedy. A president was needed to replace John F. Kennedy and, coincidentally, it was his own vice president, Lyndon Baines Johnson. An effective president is someone who demonstrates equality, honesty and is passionate. The president must remain motivated throughout his presidency through his communication with the public. The president must lead with propriety and equality and with a focus on the needs of the people. An effective president must lead the nation with perseverance, integrity and must always be a shining example to others. Lyndon B. Johnson was born August 27, 1908, in Stonewall, Texas. He attended Johnson City High School and graduated in 1924, then continued his education at Southwest Texas State Teachers College in 1924, where he received a B.S. In high school and college, he was part of the debate team and was also involved in public speaking. Johnson was a teacher at Pearsall High School and taught public speaking at Sam Houston High School. Johnson's involvement in public speaking while in college had an impact on his presidency. For example, when he led his “War on Poverty” legislation, his speech led to the Economic Opportunity Act and later created the Office of Economic Opportunity. Johnson's teaching and law career also had a positive impact on his presidency. For example, he took responsibility for former President John. F.Kennedy. Indeed, Lyndon B. Johnson's experience and qualifications before his presidency made him an effective president. Perseverance is one of the first qualities a president should have. A president must have the will to move things forward as they should be and not... middle of paper ......hnson was very humane in the actions he took. He always defended his people. Johnson passed numerous laws such as the Food Stamp Act and the Civil Rights Act. Food stamps still help many people across the country today. And the Civil Rights Act was a major turning point for our country. Thinking about just one fault is not acceptable because everyone makes mistakes. Even during the war, Johnson helped increase the number of soldiers. Johnson helped as much as he could. Therefore, as you can see, Lyndon Baines Johnson was an effective president. Johnson proved his effective presidency by persevering, demonstrating integrity, and being a shining example to others. He demonstrated these qualities through, for example, his “War on Poverty” and “Great Society” legislation. And remember, not all presidents are the same, it's like saying, "If everyone jumped off a cliff, would you too ??”.
