Carl Sandburg once said, “Time is the coin of your life.” It's the only coin you have and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful not to let other people spend it for you. This quote comes to me every time I think of a particular place, somewhere where almost every American adult has had the misfortune of spending a day. Somewhere, we all spend countless hours waiting in line. A government department plagued by incompetent employees; employees who can turn something as simple as renewing a driver's license into an all-day affair. I am of course referring to the Department of Motor Vehicles or Hell on Earth as I often call it. Part of the problem with the DMV, or the Department of Motor Vehicles as it was called until now, is the people - the customers. to employees. Customers arrive completely unprepared, waiting in line while they scramble to get things together once they get to the front. Worse yet, customers are often downright rude, both to each other and to DMV employees, pushing each other, sliding in front of people.,...
