Essay / A comparison between the High Line Park and the national art...
Architecture reflects the historical development and civilized progress of a country. Architecture, as the advanced abode of society, demonstrates the achievements of arts and cultures. The two architects that the newspaper will compare are the National Art Schools Project in Cuba and High Line Park in New York. The two coming from different countries show distinctly different architectural knowledge. A comparison between them is necessary to better understand the style, history, social changes, etc. The following parts will discuss the similarities and differences between the National Art Schools Project and High Line Park. First, both are both revolutionary. The National Art Schools project was an initial proposal by Cuban leader Fidel Castro and revolutionary Che Guevara. With the determination of “improving national literacy” as well as a radical and idealized revolutionary concept, the National Art Schools Project could be considered the greatest work of architectural art in Cuban history. Three design principles should be followed: one is the fusion achieved by coordination between design and geographical features; another is the application of expensive architectural materials; and the last one is the style with globally popular factors. Based on innovative design at high cost and unique style, the National Art Schools project could be an unforgettable project that the world will remember. As for High Line Park, its revolutionary characteristics do not seem too obvious to the public. High Line Park was created on the basis of an abandoned railway line, which was previously a high-rise transportation line, to reduce ground transportation pressure. However, the rest......middle of paper......actually stimulates economic growth. The two architects are both an inflection of art; however, their destiny is different depending on their cultures and origins. In fact, the architect fills society with an artistic atmosphere, but on the other hand, it does not have to be very grandiose to not conform to the integrated style of a country. Less unique buildings among the common ones in a country can exactly attract more visitors. So what can be attractive if unique buildings are scattered all around? The answer is clear. Coming back to the architects mentioned above, the National Art Schools Project or High Line Park can attract all the attention due to their rare innovation and strong historical factors. These types of architects should be reserved for presenting history and culture as well as the development of art to the outside world, and especially to future generations..
