    The path to drug addiction begins with taking drugs, and over time an individual's ability to choose not to do so becomes compromised and, therefore, he tries to find and consume the drug. the drugs are getting out of control. This behavior primarily results from the effects of continued drug exposure on brain function. Alcohol, cocaine, and cannabis are just a few of the things thousands of Americans can benefit from treatment for. Many treatment goals include abstinence, freedom from alcohol or drug use, or controlled use, the idea that addicts may be able to use a substance under control. Doctors often come together to help addicts in hopes of getting them sober again. When the idea of ​​treatment comes to mind, it probably sounds like a small group of people sitting around a room confessing their addiction. There are many other aspects of the treatment that people receive that people tend not to hear about. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a worldwide organization of alcoholic-based self-help groups who help each other achieve and maintain sobriety. The main goal of this group is 100% abstinence. Dr. William D. Silkworth stated that "the alcoholic or alcohol-dependent person is biologically different from others and therefore can never drink alcohol safely." (410). You cannot blame someone for having this disease. The dependent is expected to manage the illness as best they can and use the approaches that AA primarily practices. One of the main approaches is the Twelve Steps. Some of the twelve steps involve admitting that we are powerless over alcohol and taking a thorough, fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
