Essay / To what extent are women willing to sacrifice for...
Beauty is a very important aspect for women. There has been a lot of pressure placed on women to achieve a standard of beauty set by their culture and society. Due to the desperation of wanting to be beautiful, women are willing to do anything to please their family, themselves, and society. Although these measures were much more bizarre in the past than they are today, today's traditions of becoming beautiful remain ridiculous. Since women were given the duty to represent the beauty of their culture, it has become an obligation to fulfill it. Many people will tell others not to judge a book by its cover, and while this is wise advice, their subconscious will do it. contradict this statement, leading them to judge people by their appearance. Mr. Farouk Radwan, Msc, explains that there is a theory, the attractive halo effect, in which people associate good traits with beauty even before knowing one's personality; one study found that strangers view attractive people as more socially and financially successful and happier than unattractive people (Radwan, M. Farouk). This happens unconsciously and people don't realize that someone who is physically attractive can lead them to their biased judgments. Due to these judgments, physical appearance has become important, however, beauty standards differ from person to person and culture to culture. In many cultures, fashion and styles are used to represent a person's beauty, especially among women. Fashion, although overlooked, is something that humans deal with on a daily basis. It's a non-verbal way of hiding or showing character and even those who say they don't care about their fashion will spot a clot...... middle of paper......lo Effect ." 2 Know me.
