Essay / Do not go gently into that good night and Robert Frost...
Although life is full of many difficulties, promises and commitments, trying to live life to the fullest will help people not rage against death light. "Be Not Gentle in That Good Night" explains that all humans will die and potentially be angry at their deaths due to feeling like their mark was not completely left on the surface of the earth. “Stopping in the Woods on a Snowy Evening” completes this by stating that life is filled with duties that must be completed, but in this we must also find time to leave an impact, because one day, the death will occur. Thomas uses a series of repetitions, metaphors, and similes to express his ideas, while Frost uses alliteration, personification, and exaggerations to make his ideas in the poem. The character in Frost's poem accepts death, but is inclined to live according to its promises, giving little insight into what is truly important in life. Rather, Thomas' characters have gone through all the stages of life and realize that they have spent a lifetime focusing on what is not important. Today, facing death, they realize that they have left no trace and plead for more life. Therefore, the characters analyzed in the poems of Frost and Thomas choose the alternative of life over death, but for contradictory reasons. They both realize that to die peacefully, you must live a meaningful life. As we have noted, death, the tragedy of life, is not what causes men to rage, rather it is the missed opportunities during life that cause such rage.
