Embryonic stem cell research is a very controversial topic in the United States. Some people think that it is morally and religiously incorrect because they are killing a human life at the earliest stage of life. While some think that everything is fine because human life begins in the fetus or when the fetus can feel pain. In this article, we will discuss the overall aspect of embryonic stem cell research: how the government plays a role in the study of embryonic stem cells, how embryonic stem cells have helped people so far and what are embryonic stem cells. Hopefully with this research we will better understand embryonic stem cells and why some people may benefit from them, as they may help cure certain diseases. Perhaps we can come to an agreement on what is correct or incorrect in the study of embryonic stem cell research. Embryonic stem cells are extracted from the blastocyst, which is the first stage of the embryo. These cells are pluripotent, meaning they can form any type of cell except those in the placenta. The reason adult cells are not used for study is that they are multipotent, meaning they are limited to the cells they can evolve into. Embryonic stem cells can help find cures for spinal cord injuries, type 1 diabetes in children, nervous system diseases such as: Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis ( Chapman, A. The removal of embryonic stem cells results in the death of the embryo, which causes numerous conflicts between researchers and religious groups. Some people think it is immoral because they are killed middle of paper, Alzheimer's, birth defects, organ transplantation and many more. Imagine how other people will benefit from these studies. We may even be able to help other countries in the study of embryonic stem cells. We could save lives or make them live a little longer until a real cure is found. We have looked at many areas of embryonic stem cells. We discuss how the government plays a role in embryonic stem cell research. We also discuss how embryonic stem cells are created and that there are different ways to harvest embryonic stem cells without destroying the embryo. Eventually, we were able to find an FDA-approved lead involving embryonic stem cell research. We still haven't decided whether this is good or bad research, as there are many different sides and points of view on this controversial topic. I guess we have to agree to disagree on this one.
