Essay / Analysis of Movie Trailers and Posters - 1371
Analysis of Movie Trailers and Posters Movie posters come in a wide range of styles. Most have attractive images or slogans that appeal to a particular audience and some simply try to appeal to everyone. They all have something in common: anchoring and hooking devices, some even have alliteration. They are found almost everywhere such as in cinemas, city centers, bus shelters, on the sides of buses, in magazines and on the internet. They are all trying to do one thing: persuade you to spend money on their movie. I will describe and explain what makes a good movie poster, then I will give an example. I'm going to look at the general composition of movie posters. Usually, a movie poster features a large image of a famous actor or actress who stars or plays a leading role in the movie. It can even show a scene from the movie. It’s an anchor and a good selling point. Anchoring draws the reader's attention to surrounding features of the poster, such as magazine quotes. The quotes usually say things like "BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR says the sun" or "MUST SEE HIT shouts the mail", this helps sell the film to the reader of the poster. There are usually more than three citations per poster. It's usually in the corner of the poster or on the side. In addition to or instead of quotes, there may be small images (compared to the main image) of scenes from the film showing the best parts of the film. These shot scenes usually contain action, comedy and romance images. The images are related to the film and suitable for the target audience. At the top of the poster are usually the names of the main actors... middle of paper... and then it makes you want to see more about the film. The trailer gives the idea that you don't need to see the first movie because it feels like a whole new plot and story. Many recognizable faces appear in the film, such as Wesley Snipes who has starred in many good films throughout his career. . Just the fact that Wesley Snipes is in the film gives his fans reason enough to see the film. The trailer also gives fans of the first BLADEfilm plenty of reasons to see the sequel. One of them being a new race of enemies and an alliance with the vampire race. I finished looking through movie posters and trailers. Although they are different, they both have the same goal: to sell the advertised film for entertainment purposes and to make money. Overall, they are both affectionate towards their target audience.
