    The Blind Man in the Cathedral by Raymond CarverRaymond Carver wrote a short story entitled ''The Cathedral'', it is about a woman who has a friend for a long time and he is blind. He comes to her house to see her and then realizes that she is her husband. At first, the husband has good vision but it is he who seems “blind”. The husband speaks and makes signs when he speaks to Robert, the blind man, the husband is in some sense "blind" because he does not notice and does not understand what it means for Robert to be blind. What does it mean or how does it change one's life to be a person who cannot see anything, to be a blind person. The husband seems very uncomfortable, Robert makes him feel that he is not in the right place. The husband always thinks of what he can say or do for the blind visitor. As the story progresses, the husband's feelings towards the blind man become good. For him, Robert becomes more of a person than a simple blind man who can do nothing. Here is an example of the husband being "blind", this is at the beginning of the story, before the blind stranger visits him....
