In the rapidly changing world of sports, people around the world are trying to find the most innovative approaches to strength training. When planning a training session, you should not plan for the next season, but rather for the next year or even longer. Some training issues that athletes encounter include: weight gain or loss, improving form on certain lifts or exercises, increasing work capacity and improving overall fitness, and gaining general knowledge of training. There are also many other factors to consider when designing and implementing a strength training program. Diet, nutrition, rest and recovery are some of the important factors in producing optimal training gains. Besides these factors, one aspect that can be tricky to manage is the training program itself. When it comes to putting together a strength training program, it's important to understand all aspects of the program, including how it fits together. According to “The Periodization Bible,” by Dave Tate, the organization of training can be described as periodization. Periodizing your training is key. Instead of doing the same routine month after month, you change your workout routine at regular intervals to keep your body working harder, while still giving it enough rest. A periodized strength training program may produce better results than a non-periodized program, since periodization provides a training method that never allows the body to fully adapt to the stresses placed on it. Such a program will allow your muscles to gradually strengthen and is suitable for training any athlete. Strength training is very important in the development of athletes, but it must involve more than just lifting weights aimlessly...... middle of paper ......more books. According to the NSCA Guide to Program Design, the microcycle is “a small training cycle that can last from several days to 2 weeks.” This cycle involves a number of different training sessions with a specific meaning or objective. These goals could include educational goals, to teach clients or athletes about the training program, as well as to introduce the trainee to the exercises they will be performing in future cycles. The meso cycle is considered a medium-sized training cycle composed of many micro-cycles designed around a specific goal. Most programs use this cycle to develop a component of fitness such as strength, power, endurance or other physical ability. These cycles last from one to four months. The macrocycle can be called an annual plan, which usually extends over a full year of training..
