Essay / Analysis of Interaction Design - 1648
In this essay I will write about interaction design, I will cover my chosen topic in detail through the in-depth research I have collected. I will define and analyze interaction design using key examples of this both historical and contemporary design practice. I chose to focus my essay on interaction design because I recently completed a second wave project where my end result was a design/prototype of an interactive phone application allowing the user to obtain advice on writing your CV to improve your chances of getting a job. My target audience was young people in London aged 18-23 who are struggling to find work for themselves. I focused my design on ease of use, hoping that every user can understand how to use the app without any confusion or stress while navigating the app itself. I have always been interested in interactive design but this was the first time I practiced it myself. I found the subject matter to be quite an interesting form of design because the user physically interacts with what you have created. So I decided to base my essay on interaction design. from the information i have gathered and what i already know before my definition, interaction design is largely built from the foundation of graphic design itself, you need to have the fundamental skills to know how to use color theory, typography, follow the grid, dot trace and train most, if not all, of the techniques used in graphic design itself. While technology has improved these days, interactive design has never been used more than it is today. Be used on many new interactive devices such as tablets, netbooks, phones, iPhones, blackberries, apps, TV, ATMs, computer games...... middle of paper ......buy your product. I myself normally find it a low stress thing to use, but I have a feeling some older people might not be able to use these machines. I have personally seen people struggle to use them. This makes me think that this form of interactive design doesn't help people and that taking jobs from people generally doesn't help sociality at all. There are lots of useful new things coming out of interaction design, they can make the world a much better place, but how far can interaction design go? With all these new technologies being developed in the future, could interactive design products end up filling all sorts of different jobs, resulting in many people being laid off? In the past we never had the technology to use interaction design in this way and people survived without a problem, so do we really need it? What will happen in the future of interaction design?
