    Andrew Carnegie was an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was born in Dunfermline, Scotland, United Kingdom. He was born on November 25, 1835. He died on August 11, 1919 at the age of 84 in Lenox, Massachusetts. Andrew had little to no formal education, but he grew up in a family that believed in the importance of books and learning. His father was a weaver by trade. Andrew Carnegie was best known as a self-made steel magnate and was one of the richest businessmen in the 19th century United States. He donated much of his money to help expand the New York Public Library. Andrew moved to the United States at the age of 13 with his family. They established their roots in Allegheny, Pennsylvania.
