    Prelude: The economy of Bangladesh mainly depends on agriculture. About 84% of the total population lives in rural areas and is directly or indirectly engaged in a wide range of agricultural activities. Agriculture contributes approximately 20.29% to the country's GDP (23%). About 43.6% of the working population is employed in agriculture and about 57% are employed in the crop sector. Bangladesh has resources to develop agro-based industries. It has rich alluvial soil, a year-round frost-free environment, available water, and an abundance of cheap labor. The increased cultivation of tropical vegetables, spices and fruits currently grown in Bangladesh could provide raw materials for local agro-industry for domestic and export markets. Progressive agricultural practices have improved marketing techniques. Modern processing facilities have improved the quality of agro-industry and significantly increased production levels. Priority agri-food products are canned juices, fruits, vegetables and dairy and poultry products. Keywords: Agri-food product, Supply chain management, supply chain logistics, Inventory management.
