Going to a community college is better than going to a vocational school right out of high school. Vocational schools still have a lot to offer because they deal directly with a technology field, but community colleges are more diverse and can give you a better skill set to train in the world. With the schools I'm considering, it comes down to MIT and IVCC, as my plans are to become an electrical engineer or draftsman. When choosing between these schools, I have to consider what type of housing they have, what sports they offer, whether or not they have parking, what types of classes they offer, and any degrees they offer in my area of interest. Electrical engineering is a specific field of engineering that concerns the analysis and application of what you know to electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism (Wikipedia, "Electrical"). This field of engineering includes a wide variety of subfields, including: electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, and many others (Wikipedia, “Electrical”). One of the reasons I want to go into electrical engineering is because there are so many career options to branch off into and everything comes so easily to me. I find that I enjoy the work that I do and it is something that I am exceptionally good at. I really see myself doing this as a lifelong career and not having to worry about getting stuck in a dead end job. The only thing I need to do to get started is decide which school I want to go to and which one will help me get to where I want to be, the best.
