Essay / Development and diversity - 1010
Module 2 Assignment: Development and diversityThe aim of this assignment is to explain the main components of humanist theory. Two American psychologists, Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers, paved the way for this new approach to understanding personality and improving the overall satisfaction of individuals. Next, I will show how humanistic theory is used in the classroom and what problems are possible. Finally, a 3rd grade learning activity that uses aspects of humanistic theory will be presented. Humanistic Theory Humanistic theory deals with the whole person, focusing on human experience, problems, potentials, and ideals. Human nature is considered intrinsically good. It is about self-realization and the full development of one's personal potential. It is believed that if children feel good about themselves, it is a good start (Coon, Mitterer, 2007). the lives of great people. He believed that people flourished and had needs that needed to be met. Maslow introduced the hierarchy of needs model in 1940 to the United States, which remains valid today. The original five-step model includes biological and physiological needs, safety and security needs, love and belonging needs, self-esteem and self-actualization. Based on Maslow's work, other needs were later added; cognitive needs, aesthetic needs and needs for transcendence. Maslow's hierarchy of needs states that our needs must be met in turn, starting with the first need, which concerns survival. He believes that until the primary needs are met, an individual cannot move on to personal development. M...... middle of paper......not boring. Students will realize that they can control their own learning without the teacher. Conclusion Humanistic thinking has encouraged many people to seek greater self-awareness and personal growth, and the concepts are very useful in counseling and psychotherapy. To develop self-image, one must first evaluate information coming from the environment, starting with perceptions and sensations of the body, toes, nose, I want, I like, I am, etc. . When children are evaluated by others, this will cause the child to develop internal standards of evaluation. For example, children learn that certain actions earn their parents' love and approval. Children feel the same way about how their teachers feel. Teachers must practice effective learning skills so that students feel comfortable achieving their achievement goals..
