  • Essay / Gay Marriage: The Pros and Cons of Same-Sex Marriage

People who didn't like the approval of this law had their reasons. Some of the disadvantages they discovered were that marriage was traditionally known as the marriage of a man and a woman. Marriage is for procreation and should not be granted to people of the same sex since they cannot have children together. They believe that children need both a mother and a father, and that motherless children will not have this emotional connection and will cause confusion in children. Additionally, a child needs a father figure in his life to gain confidence and want to explore his environment. Another downside to legalizing same-sex marriage, they say, is the possibility that other types of religions, such as people who don't believe in God or any related non-traditional religion, will want the right to marry. Homosexuality is not considered natural and correct. It's not the word of God and people's beliefs.
