Target strives to create a diverse and inclusive work environment, cultivate an inclusive customer experience, and foster equality in society. The potential employee in this article is a 21-year-old gay man looking for a job at Target. Useful information for the future gay employee was easily found on the Target company website. Target uses conferences and career fairs hosted by organizations such as Management and Leadership for Tomorrow, the National Society of Hispanic MBA and the National Black MBA Association to build a diverse team. At these conferences, Target sets up booths to encourage guests to become members of the Target team. Target aims to have a team that reflects the communities around them. Target works to integrate diversity into the company culture by representing diverse groups. Target's business council represents six groups: African-American; Asian American; Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied; Hispanic; Military; and women. All of this information is helpful to a potential employee because it shows how Target supports diversity.
