Working closely with our customers, CDM Smith provides services through the following major business groups, divided into: Customer Services, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Federal Services, Industrial Services, Utilities, North America, South America East and Latin America, Utilities, North America, West/Central and Asia. Challenges Global businesses face many challenges, from employees dispersed across the globe as well as language and cultural challenges . These challenges also lie within our own borders. In the United States, the workforce is increasingly made up of minorities. According to Gomez-Mejia, Balkin, and Cardy (2011), minorities now represent approximately 34% of the U.S. workforce; within 30 years, this ratio should exceed half. This, coupled with companies making a greater share of their revenues overseas, means facing workforce diversity on two fronts.
