    In the past, the only thing that most businessmen were interested in was how to maximize business profits and reduce costs as much as possible, at any cost. Very few companies of the time were concerned with the moral and ethical values ​​of business. And when the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) first emerged in the 1950s, few companies appreciated it; businessmen of that decade were more "talk" than "action." However, the emergence of this view has shown the evolution of how business around the world is evolving. (Carroll, AB, 2008).1 CSR is a fairly new term compared to the long history of awareness of ethical behavior in society beyond profit maximization, and has only become popular in the years 1990, when globalization expanded with astonishing speed. (Muirhead, 1999).2 International trade, investments in foreign countries become easier and more popular, big profits are made, more opportunities to seek as well as fiercer competitions and more challenges in a new environment cultural. In this situation, companies must find ways to increase their reputation, specialize their image and brand, which highlights the importance of ethics and corporate social responsibility in business. This essay will briefly describe corporate social responsibility, its effects on international business, the different opinions on CSR of shareholders and stakeholders and finally the difficulties that international organizations face when implementing a CSR program in Vietnam.
